DC-DC Synchronous Boost Converter – EV3428A-L-00A

Overview

The DC-DC Synchronous Boost Converter – EV3428A-L-00A Evaluation Board is designed to demonstrate the performance of MPS’ MP3428A, which has excellent protection and can provide load with 12V/2A power from typical 3.3V input. The MP3428A is a 600 kHz fixed frequency, high efficiency, wide input range, current mode boost converter with optional internal or external current sensing configuration for high integration and high power application. It features internally a 10mΩ, 24V power switch and a synchronous gate driver for high conversion efficiency. The MP3428A is available in a low profile 22-pin 3mmx4mm QFN package.

Capabilities

  1. Conduct live testing of the TPS61288EVM-064 Synchronous Boost Converter on real hardware
  2. Perform the following key test evaluations:
    • Operation Mode – Switching waveforms
    • Regulation tests – Line Regulation and Load Regulation
    • Performance tests – Startup transient, Load transient and Efficiency
    • Boundary conditions tests – Input voltage boundary conditions
  1. Observe and analyze waveforms at various test points, such as:
    • Input voltage
    • Input current
    • Output voltage
    • Output current
  1. Computed values of regulation and efficiency based on the real-time data are made available to the user.

Features

  • Evaluating the board connected through a real power supply and load system setup.
  • Exercise all the feature tests with different input and output parameters in real-time.
  • Testing the boundary condition of synchronous boost converter.
