Household Smoke Detector

Overview

The EU070 Household Smoke Detector (EU070-SMOKEDETPOCZ EVM Board) is a photoelectric-based detection system designed for accurate and efficient smoke monitoring. Using an infrared photodiode and phototransistor housed in a specially designed chamber, the system ensures reliable detection of smoke particles while minimizing interference from external light.

Powered by Renesas’ RAA239101 low-power analog front-end IC and the RL78/G12 MCU, this smoke detector provides timely alerts through visual (LED) and auditory signals, ensuring maximum safety in household applications.

Capabilities

Normal Conditions:
- GREEN LED ON, RED LED OFF, indicating no smoke detected.
Smoke Contamination:
- RED LED blinks when smoke is present, confirming successful detection. GREEN LED stays ON.
System Status:
- GREEN LED remains ON at all times to show power and functionality.
