Smart Water Solution – EU154-1

Overview

Renesas EU 154-1 Smart Water Valve Control device can automatically control watering of plants etc. by switching the water valve ON when water level is too low, and switching water valve OFF when water level becomes (sufficiently) high enough.

EU 154-1 can be manually controlled by MQTT commands via Smartphone or Table GUI, or from a PC via web browser, using an appropriate web-based MQTT server. This solution kit allows quick evaluation of Renesas HVPAK H-bridge device as well as WiFi/BLE using third party data acquisition and visualization tools.

Capabilities

Shut OFF/ON the valve using Wi-Fi to simulate a plant watering system.
Two modes of operation – manual and automatic.
In the manual mode, the valve open/close behavior and hence the watering can be controlled as desired.
In the automatic mode, the trigger value can be set by the user based on which the valve open/close behavior and hence the watering is controlled.
Provision to charge the battery on the EU154-1 board via USB

Features

This setup consists of two water tanks – the bottom tank is used as a storage reservoir and the upper tank is used to showcase a plant watering environment..
The EU153-1 is used for fetching moisture content, temperature and humidity data in real-time.
The EU154-1 is able to turn ON/OFF the valve based on sensed moisture value from the EU153-1 board.
Shows a live video feed of the entire setup as well as a close-up view of the evaluation boards.
