Scaling Sensor Innovation: How LiveBench Supercharged Allegro MicroSystems’ Global Evaluation

Overview

Allegro MicroSystems is a leading provider of high-performance magnetic sensing and power semiconductor solutions. Their products power safety-critical applications in automotive, industrial automation, and robotics, where accuracy and reliability are non-negotiable. Allegro was able to to broaden reach of its TMR, 3D Hall-effect sensors and Field Current Sensors across diverse global markets—without the logistical delays and support overhead of shipping physical evaluation kits (EVKs).

“Partnering with Tenxer Labs and LiveBench has been a game-changer. We are now able to reach customers in emerging markets instantly, backed by real usage data that drives our product and marketing strategies.”
— Ram Sathappan, Vice President of Marketing at Allegro MicroSystems

Opportunity | Drive adoption of Sensors products across diverse global markets

Allegro faced two intertwined hurdles:

  1. Global Reach & Demonstration
Reaching customers spread across globe with traditional evaluation kits (EVKs) incurred high shipping costs, long lead times, and setup complexities.
  2. In-System, Repeatable Testing
Modern sensors demand hands-on, in-system verification—accuracy, thermal profiling, transient response, effect of stray magnetic field, and high-current testing in case of current sensors, non-portable, instrument-heavy labs couldn’t scale or replicate consistently for each customer.

Solution | Allegro launched multiple sensor families onto LiveBench Platform

Partnering with Tenxer Labs, Allegro began with two sensor families onto LiveBench, a cloud-hosted remote lab platform. The lab setups demonstrate the breadth of this collaboration:

1. Rotor Position Sensor Bench (Angle Sensors)

2. Field Current Sensor Lab (Current Sensors)

  • Components: ACS37610 & ACS70310 current-sense modules
  • Capabilities: High-Current testing with relay-based direction switching; transient response; thermal profiling of busbar; oscilloscope data logging; precision 0.25%-tolerance shunt for reference measurement.

Implementation

Pre-Configured Labs: Each session spins up a ready-to-use environment—complete with SDKs, IDEs, evaluation boards, and documentation—eliminating setup friction.

User Onboarding: Global Sales & FAE teams received training materials, allowing them to run tests from anywhere without installation hassles.

Data Collection & Reporting: LiveBench’s analytics dashboard captured user locations, session lengths, and evaluation metrics—feeding into Allegro’s GTM and product teams.

  • Broader Market Reach: Engines in emerging markets test remotely, expanding Allegro’s footprint.
  • Clear Value Demonstration: Live demos under realistic conditions help customers grasp sensor benefits instantly.
  • Consistent Results: Standardized cloud labs ensure every engineer experiences the same setup and outcomes.

Looking Ahead

Building on this success, Allegro plans to:

  • Roll out additional sensor and power families on LiveBench.
  • Co-branded webinars and workshops leveraging the remote labs.

Conclusion

By hosting both angle and current sensor evaluations on LiveBench, Allegro MicroSystems bridged innovation with global scalability. Engineers everywhere now enjoy instant, hands-on access to high-accuracy, high-current testing—propelling faster design wins and deeper market penetration.
